cp -r caveman/skills/caveman-commit ~/.claude/skills/caveman-commit
Safety box score
Grade A, minimal risk: 0 of 100 risk points, rated 2026-10-19. The grade rates what the skill and its scripts can reach on the machine of whoever installs it, across eight categories from shell execution to secrets access. How the score works.
This skill is a text-only commit-message formatter: it reads no secrets, runs no commands, and makes no filesystem or network changes. The main thing you grant is stylistic control over commit message wording, including when to include bodies for breaking changes or reverts.
| Category | Level | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Code & shell execution | 0 (none) | Only markdown instructions are shipped; there are no scripts, shell commands, or code execution paths. |
| Network access | 0 (none) | No downloads, uploads, or remote API calls are described anywhere in `SKILL.md` or `README.md`. |
| Filesystem reach | 0 (none) | The skill only generates a commit message and explicitly says it "does not stage, commit, or amend"; it does not read or write files. |
| Secrets & credentials | 0 (none) | It does not ask for tokens, passwords, `.env` files, keychains, or browser/CLI sessions. |
| Privilege & persistence | 0 (none) | No sudo, installs, services, shell/profile edits, or other privilege changes are mentioned. |
| Instruction hijack surface | 0 (none) | The files contain formatting guidance only; there are no instructions to ignore higher-priority rules, hide actions, or follow remote content. |
| Irreversible actions | 0 (none) | It is bounded to message generation and explicitly says it "Does not run `git commit`, does not stage files, does not amend." |
| Transparency | 0 (none) | Everything is plain-text markdown; there are no binaries, generated blobs, or unreadable installers. |
Before installing
- Verify the repo contains only the two markdown files shown here; there are no scripts or binaries to audit.
- Check that you want an assistant that only drafts commit messages and never runs `git commit` or stages changes.
- If your project has a custom commit style, compare it with the Conventional Commits rules in `SKILL.md` before using it.
