user-segmentation
An agent skill by phuryn, from phuryn/pm-skills. Tags: automation, market-analysis, spreadsheets, web.
What it does
Segment users from feedback data based on behavior, JTBD, and needs. Identifies at least 3 distinct user segments. Use when segmenting a user base, analyzing diverse user feedback, or building a segmentation model.
Install
With the skills CLI, which installs into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents:
npx skills add phuryn/pm-skills --skill user-segmentation
Or copy the skill folder into Claude Code's skills directory by hand (~/.claude/skills for every project, or .claude/skills inside one):
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/phuryn/pm-skills
cp -r pm-skills/pm-market-research/skills/user-segmentation ~/.claude/skills/user-segmentation
Safety box score
Grade A, minimal risk: 5 of 100 risk points, rated 2026-10-19. The grade rates what the skill and its scripts can reach on the machine of whoever installs it, across eight categories from shell execution to secrets access. How the score works.
This skill is a documentation-only market-research prompt: it reads user-provided feedback or usage data and produces segmentation analysis. It does not ship code, make network calls, or change the machine, but it can echo sensitive content from whatever data you give it.
| Category | Level | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Code & shell execution | 0 (none) | No scripts, shell commands, or code execution are present; the repository contains only `SKILL.md`. |
| Network access | 0 (none) | The skill does not instruct the agent to fetch remote content or send data anywhere; the only URLs are optional further-reading links in documentation. |
| Filesystem reach | 0 (none) | It only asks to read provided user data and produce an analysis; there are no file writes, deletes, or path-specific operations. |
| Secrets & credentials | 1 (low) | It may analyze and quote whatever feedback data the user supplies, so sensitive content could be surfaced in the output, but it does not target secret stores or credential files. |
| Privilege & persistence | 0 (none) | There is no sudo, service installation, shell configuration, or other privilege-changing behavior. |
| Instruction hijack surface | 0 (none) | The prompt contains normal task instructions like "Think Step by Step" but no requests to bypass safeguards, hide behavior, or follow remote instructions. |
| Irreversible actions | 0 (none) | It only produces a segmentation report; it does not send messages, deploy, pay, publish, or take external actions. |
| Transparency | 0 (none) | No binaries, installers, obfuscated blobs, or generated code are present; the content is fully readable markdown. |
Before installing
- Confirm the feedback datasets you plan to analyze do not contain sensitive PII unless you are comfortable with it being quoted in the report.
- If you want a stricter boundary, tell the agent not to use representative quotes from raw source text.
